The second period of Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals was one to remember for Bruins rookie Tyler Seguin. For someone who hadn’t played in the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs and scored his first goal in a Game 1 loss to the Lightning, the kid turned it up a notch or two. He was simply amazing to watch and completely transformed the Bruins’ offensive attack.
In the aftermath, much has been made about the fact that Seguin hadn’t seen any action in the playoffs. In fact, it’s more than reasonable to assume that had Patrice Bergeron not suffered in a concussion in Game 4 of the Bruins’ sweep of the Flyers, he still may be a well paid observer.
Alas, he is not, and Bruins fans have Seguin to thank for the B’s evening the series heading back to Florida for Thursday’s Game 3.
Hopefully Shawn Thornton brought an extra suit and enjoys the view from high above ice level.
